Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, is happy with the recent announcement by Microsoft that backwards compatibility will be coming to the Xbox One. He states that the ability to play Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One is “very good news.”“It’s good news for gamers that Microsoft was able to work on the compatibility aspect.
They expect to come with 100 titles quite quickly, so that’s really good news. It will help some of the brands, like Splinter Cell for us, to come to Xbox One, which is great.”Backwards compatibility will be a big boost for video game companies. Install dante socks proxy centos install. It will help increase the sales of some of the older titles not available for the current generation of consoles. People will want to buy these older titles as they can now play them on their new console. Companies like Ubisoft are realizing this and embracing the change. The backwards compatibility feature is currently available only to members of Xbox One’s Preview Program.
It will be coming to all Xbox One users this Holiday season.I did tweet Alex Hutchinson with this question - 'Can you see any of the old Far Cry games becoming backwards compatible on Xbox 1? Or a Far Cry Instincts Predator HD version'The answer back was 'I would assume 3, 4 and Blood Dragon would make it over at some point.'
Our problem Bob is there are not enough numbers shouting out for the title, I would love to see FCIP and FC2 both backwards compatible on XB1 - that would be great fun going back to Pred and playing online with the old faces I used to hang out with all those years ago. There was also this info regarding BC on XB1The announcement of becoming backward compatible with games was certainly one of the more exciting ones at this years E3, and arguably the highlight of ‘s press briefing. Alas, unfortunately the likelihood is that not all games will be playable. Speaking to OXM, Microsfot Corporate VP Kudo Tsunoda explains why. “So, we’ll start with 100 titles this autumn, and we’ll be adding titles as time goes.
At some point we’re going to need to get – obviously – the permission of the owners of the content, the publishers and the developers. So 100% is always a hard thing to achieve in anything. There’s a possibility for some outliers, but we’re really going to work on getting the biggest catalogue of games on any platform onto via not only our exclusive blockbuster titles that we’re delivering this fall, but also our indie games plus backward compatibility. Again, that’s just enormous value for gamers.”Potentially one of the reasons why it could be so difficult to get permission from the appropriate parties to have their games on Xbox One would be because many publishers or developers from the seventh generation of consoles are now defunct.
For instance, it’s not been made clear if any THQ games will be available on the Xbox One. Time will tell. I love the story's they produce and I have a vary high opinion of every thing they do and create for all the world it see.
Brilliant game. I personal thought the game story was better in far cry 3. Just not feeling it in 4. As far as the Multi player, lost a heavy amount of interest in playing the MP. I just don't see the point. Id rather play Halo.Far Cry 2 won me over as far as the best game I've ever played. I am sorry, the best game I have every played.
UT was there but it got killed when it went to 360. Far Cry MP gave us something eles that no other game out there had for years and still dose. I really hope they just remaster it and pop it on Xbox One. I think that's all people want. When it comes to the MP part of it. We live for custom maps and the worlds people create from around the planet. People are awesome and you took that human element away from us.We just want to get back to it.
I don't want to complain but. I have to Because I have such love for the story of this game and the playable content; in Far Cry 2. The whole game was one big fantastic piece of artwork.
I did not discover the MP until two years later after its release date. And when I did. It changed my life for years. It brought me back to playing on my 120' project screen during campaign days, as I was immersed in this lush world.
I Remember feeling like I had really explored Africa in real life. I started playing MP and saw all those who built maps and themes. It was such a great Experience. I was truly in awe by it all. I made my own maps and felt great when people started playing them. Then I saw my true talent as an artist editing other peoples maps and making them have the spark. The one where you say, wow; this looks amazing!Something I have not told you, I am handicap.
Missing my left hand. It has always been hard for for me to play games.
The struggle was truly real as they say. So I found my place helping shape great MP levels, matches and most of all,; experiences that would last past the short lived hype of CoD, as they come out with a game every 6 months. Thats all gone now.
I feel like there is this hole, sadness that I am powerless to do any thing about. Every one that I played with from around the world is just gone. Far Cry game meant something, let me be a part of something bigger then myself. Showed me that I have this talent locked away for creation. I felt sooooo good just watching people have fun. I got more enjoyment out of that then I ever let on.Just writing this is hard with my condition, I spent a lot of time taking the time to do this. With out being hateful of disrespectful.
Please, if anything. Just remaster the Far Cry 2 MP side and let us enjoy it once again. There's so much more to my far cry 2 experience then I can writ here. Just know that one single feature, MP dedicated servers with a nice list of playable matches people from around the world hosted, was a life changer for me. In short, you caused me to make a custom controller that I could use just to play with my friends in England on your game.- Alexander Wayne, TheArmLessWonder.
Product Information. Far Cry has players controlling mercenary Jack Carver, who has recently arrives a tropical island to find himself alone and outgunned against a mysterious militia. The game runs on developer Crytek Studios' own 'CryENGINE,' which features unpredictable enemies that use group tactics to make Carver's job more difficult. Enemy units include scouts, stalkers, snipers, and grenadiers, each of whom can call for reinforcements to arrive by land, sea, or air.Fortunately for players, Carver can gain access to a variety of weapons and items, such as motion-sensing binoculars to help in isolating targets from afar. Fighting, however, isn't always the answer when one is severely outnumbered, and players may choose to rely on stealth tactics to help see them through. Far Cry: Instincts is the Xbox version of the PC original, Far Cry, which was critically praised for its enemy AI, outdoor environments, and technological proficiency.
Great effort, but lacks a lot in refinementFarCry Instincts is the first FarCry game for the Xbox, with the original award-winning game being designed for the PC.I was excited to get this title, as it featured not only single-player campaign modes but also a multiplayer online mode and, unlike any XBox game before it that I know of, the ability to create your own maps. These maps can then be shared with anyone on XBox Live and played online. However, once I started playing this title, the shortcomings became obvious very quickly. I will focus on the multiplayer aspect of the game for now. First, the matchmaking system is nowhere near as good as Halo 2. For a game that came after Halo 2, you expect it to be at least as good, if not better. You can also create your own matchmaking games and specify the terms of that match, su ch as match type, number of players, number of predators, weapon types, etc. But it seems as though the developer, a French company called Montreal Studios, left many things half-finished.
For instance, you can place flags in your maps, but there is no capture the flag mode. In their booklet that describes the weapon types, it says the Sniper rifle has a 3x zoom mode and the Scout rifle has a 2x zoom mode, but in the game they both only zoom twice.
The Sniper rifle does not zoom 3 times, although it is a bit more powerful than the Scout rifle. There are many more examples of this type of stuff but I won't bore you with them here. The bottom line is this title could have used a lot more polish before being released for $50 a pop.Single player mode is hardly worth mentioning. It's ok, but it's mostly the same stuff over and over. You constantly run into the types of bad guys, and you constantly use the same methods to kill them. In fact, at one point you meet a 'boss' type character, a huge mutated man with what looks like three heads. However, you run into this character at least two more times in the game, and one one level they throw two of them into the mix, just for fun. Come on, can't you get more original than that?
Don't just use the same old guys over and over. It's boring. The single player campaign is short, moderately entertaining, and pretty easy to beat. In fact, the end is so anti-climatic it makes you really upset when you realize you just beat the game.Buy this game for the ability to create your own maps and play with friends. Oh, on a side note you need to know that you do not have access to all the items in the regular game when you create maps, but a select few.
It's still fun, but more brush sets would really make it worthwhile.A decent game, but buy it on sale. Far Cry Instincts (Xbox)Another first person shooter with a cool storyline and hours of gameplay. There are some really cool missions to figure out and an interesting plot. The weapons are fun to use and the creatures are challenging enough to keep you on your toes. The graphics in this game are excelent however it does have those invisible 'borders' at the edges of the map. The only thing I really was disturbed with was how loud the volume of the music was during game play.
I could not find any way to turn it down or off and it sometimes drowned out the sound effects of normal game play. In the two player mode I could not find a setting for AI making death-match my only option.Overall I give the game 4 stars and will probly play it again. Far Cry Instincts (Xbox)Far Cry Instincts is a great game! Its fun, exciting, and has a great story line. Filled with twists and turns, Far Cry Instincts takes you through intense combat in locations from beautiful beaches to tropical swamps. Fight some of the best A.I.
For the original Xbox, they not only shoot at you, they hunt you! As well as yelling taunts at you, the A.I. Uses their tactics, weapons, and the terrain against you. This game also has one of the BEST map editors ever! Want to see your street in a war game? Well you can with this game, if you take the time to use it's editor, you can build the most detailed maps. This game is rate M for Mature, so don't buy it if you don't like cursing, blood, and the usual M stuff.
I recommend this for any older gamer that enjoys hardcore action!.
