I have successfully sensor-modded my Slim PS2 (SCPH-75001 with a 3.11U DVD Player).I've burned modified ISOs (replacing NTGUI.ELF with uLaunchELF 4.42a) of both Star Wars Battlefront and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon to Memorex DVD+R's, but always get the RSOD when (I presume) it attempts to load the.ELF file. I tried burning the MK:A ISO to a DVD-RW as well, but the console simply freezes when loading files from the disc.
Additionally, I own the PlayStation 2 Online Start-Up Disc v3.0, but I do not own any CD-R's.I've already spent the entire day trying to get this to work, so I'm posting here. Due to the age of the PS2, the majority of online guides which are still up are largely unhelpful and poorly-written, especially with troubleshooting.I'd like to know a few things before I waste more DVDs:. Do these games even work with the swap trick? I have a few more I could try, but I'm attempting to do this without spending any money whatsoever, so buying Agent Under Fire will be a last resort. Do DVD+R's even work with the swap trick in general? Do they work on my PS2 model? I can buy a few DVD-R's if I know for a fact only they will work.
Does the latest version of uLaunchELF only output in 240p? All I have is a component cable. What are the most common failure points when using this method?. Is there a specific way/time to perform the swap trick? Thanks in advance! I don't know if you have a copy of that game but if you do then google search '007 agent under fire ulaunchelf' and you should some across a site that has a pre patched version of the game you can do the swap trick with to be able to install freemcboot. Another way of doing it is buying swap magic 3.8 coder off of amazon which is nice to own. It has both cd and dvd versions in 1 pack. Also from my personal experience ps2 systems have issues reading dvd+r disc so i usually stick with dvd-r disc. I hope this helped.
