The instructions tell me to plug in a TP-link TL-WN721IN USB wireless network adapter and a TP-Link Wireless Access Point, attached by CAT5 to a router. I plugged the wireless adapter into my laptop with the access point on, and it looks like it's broadcasting an SSID of MAP043.

There must be some magic in the network adapter, because I can't see this SSID on my laptop's built-in Adapter.I would prefer the EX1150 connect directly into my existing WiFi network so I won't have to use the wireless access point. I suspect the EX1150 is firmwired to find MAP043 and connect there.

Beuler?4 Comments. Choicesby- 2016-11-14 16:37:00I have both a land line and WiFi service. I chose the simple option of just plugging my Merlin into the phone line.

There are no long distance or charges of any kind. Transmissions are infrequent, brief and usually occur late at night. My phone is more reliable than my WiFi service.

Of course if you don't have a land line, that choice is out. I pressed the button once to report a very troublesome arrhythmia and the monitoring company called back immediately and said that they were calling the ER at my hospital. I then quickly received a phone call from the ER telling me to get to the ER immediately. I was hospitalized for 5 days. My Merlin saved my life. Check The Merlin Web siteby- 2016-11-14 23:56:50I am not that computer literate, but in looking at thei Merlin Web site they seem to be saying that the wireless transmitter plugs directly into your Merlin monitor.

From there it probably communicates with your home wireless transmitter. As I said, I know very little, but you should be able to get more directions for the hook up from their Web site or by phoning them. When I received my monitor, the written instructions were supplemented by a Dvd.
