The new patch released for Heroes of Might & Magic V (US version) updates your strategy game to v1.4 fixing many bugs: - Extended tool tips for buildings on the adventure map. Melee attack performed when holding CTRL.- A hotkey (R) to invoke the creature-hiring interface from any town interface.- All creatures now have a new status (Range), describing the range at which the creature's attack is halved.- A new Video Option: Camera Mode.- A new End of Combat interface.- Hot-seat duel mode.- Hall of Fame.
Never had a problem with running any version of the game until now. Launched Steam last night and it auto-updated Heroes 7 to 1.4. Launched and played the game for a couple hours. Seemed to work fine, and I appreciate the higher contrast colors on the map and the improved loading times. This morning (Friday, US eastern time) I turned on the computer and opened Steam, and it auto-updated Heroes 7 again - this time to 1.4.1. Now when I launch the game, the game screen is shifted to the right - appears to be 'blown up' or 'zoomed in'. After the initial introscreens and the stained-glass intro video starts to play (all blown-up/shifted to right), I click the mouse button to advance to the main menu.
I then get a crash error window: 'Might and Magic Heroes VII has stopped working', with options to close the program or search online for a solution (generic Windows 7 error dialog).System Specs:Windows 7 Pro 64-bitIntel Core i5-4690 @ 3.5GHz16GB RAMNVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 TiDell w3415 monitor (running at native resolution of 3440x1440; game set for this resolution also)Anyone else have similar issue? Thanks!
