I also tried that and got an error. It was an Application Error that said: The application was unable to start correctly (0Xc0000022). Click OK to close the application. Maybe it is because I have Windows 10? I have done some research and it does look like the game has been patched for some later versions of Windows, but nothing I came across included Windows 10. I believe Windows XP was the latest it was patched for. So not sure what else to try. Thanks for the suggestion Helenor, but have any other suggestions?
I was having the same trouble with QfG5 with Memory 0 crash pop-up window. All the above did not work for me changing compatibility settings on the game app file. The below: got it to work for me.-Make sure you have install 'Direct Play'-Make sure your monitor is compatible (this is what my problem was)I have dual monitor PC setup, my main monitor is 'too large (expensive?)' but run on my second monitor (smaller older model) runs it fine. It's about the resolution they may run.(Windows 10)To check if the current monitor is compatible: right-click desktopDisplay Settingsclick 'Display adapter properties'click 'List All Modes'That's the list for what that monitor is compatible with this game runs in 640 by 480 is not on that list switch to anther monitor a check that one.My second monitor had a much larger list and 640x480 was on that list, so I went and switched my second monitor as my 'main display' and the game booted up on that screen no problems. So check physical monitor may be the problem and change it. That sucks but I am happy to find this corrected it.Good Luck and enjoy all 5 great game.
